Análise das notificações de câncer no município de Exu entre os anos 2000 e 2007

The epidemiologic transition experienced by the country shows the superposition of diseases and it entered the growing expression of malignant neoplasms. This article set out to identify the position of tumors in the city of Exu in the period 2000 to 2007, by analyzing the Municipal Notification Form of Cancer - FMNC. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, drawing from FMNC, the prevalent type of cancer, sex and age group most affected, the risk factors involved and then compared with data available by the Ministry of Health / DATASUS. The results show a greater number of tumors in the female population and age above 60 years of age. The most common cancer in the population was lung / throat, as well as in males, however, increased skin cancers and prostate. In females, there was greater expression of neoplasia of the mammary glands. Sun exposure was the risk factor most frequently mentioned, followed by heredity and smoking. Was identified in 2005 increased mortality. The appearance of cases was rising in the period, showing the importance of situational study of tumors at the local level as an aid for planning and implementation of health initiatives in Primary Care.
