ASPECTS OF ALLOREACTIVTTY: LYMPHOKINE RELEASE FROM ALLOREACTIVE T CELL CLONES IN LONG-TERM CULTURE
1982
ABSTRACT. We have analyzed lymphokine release from T cell clones in limiting dilution microcultures or from alloreactive T cell clones in long-term cultures. Our data show that 1) T lyrrphocytes are the producer cells, 2) lymphokines can be released from T cells following mitogenic or antigenic stimulation, 3) the progeny of a particular T cell are capable of releasing several lymphokines simultaneously, and 4) different lynphokines produced by the progeny of particular T cells are not identical. Those data are briefly discussed with respect to release of soluble factors during the course of alloreactivity.
