A Study on LB Bitumen in Cold Mix and Cold-Application and Pavement Mending Technique

A new asphalt material-LB asphalt is introduced in this paper, which has been developed for the pavement mending and used all-year in cold mix and cold-application. Aiming at the usual damage of pavement, such as pot holes, ravelling etc., and according to many test results obtained in laboratory and in place, the pavement mending performance of LB asphalt series and its mixtures are analyzed, a simple, easy and feasible operation procedure for the pavement maintenance is presented. The applications of this technique, by using LB asphalt series, show that the pavement mending can be realized in cold mix and cold-application with an ideal effect, and that it merits to be widely spreaded.
