Quararibea bovinii (Malvaceae), a new species from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest

Abstract In the present study, I propose a new species, Quararibea bovinii, an Atlantic Forest tree. The new taxon occurs in southeastern Brazil, in the states of Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo. It resembles Q. similis in terms of floral morphology and fruit shape, but it is distinguished by the indumenta of leaves, leaf width, and seed shape.
