Materials chemistry communications. The wetting behaviour of fresnoite and sphene on BaTiO3 ceramics

Based on heating-microscope and electron-probe microanalysis it is shown that the BaTiO3–Ba2TiSi2O8 system should be pseudobinary, whereas the BaTiO3–sphene one should not. Contact-angle measurements are presented for these systems and the BaTiO3–Ba6Ti17O40 eutectic.
