Since the rise in serum prolactin during pregnancy in normal women and those with prolactinomas is believed to be oestrogen induced, is there evidence that exogenous oestrogen therapy can induce or promote growth of prolactinoma? The available data suggest that this can occur but that both the dose and duration of oestrogen therapy are critical, as we suggest for our patient
