Fuzzy reliability estimation of a repairable system based on data with uncertainty

In conventional reliability estimation of a system, reliability engineers often consider repair rate as constant quantity, which may not be true in practical situations. The assumption that each component in the system is either working state or failed state, makes the system reliability estimation, a weaker quantity, as this is not always true.The data collected while estimating the system reliability may contain uncertainty. In view of this, in this paper, we consider the estimation of system reliability of a repairable system comprising of three identical and independent components with repair rate as well as failure rate of component, as fuzzy number. The uncertainty is modeled using triangular fuzzy number. The parameters of these fuzzy number are estimated using confidence interval and point estimation.
