Adolescent growth andpubertal progression inthe Silver-Russell syndrome

SUMMARY Thepatternofgrowthanddevelopment of18adolescent children withthe Silver-Russell syndrome was studied. Matureheight was about-3-6standard deviation scoresin bothsexes.Thisiscomparable totheheight reduction atdiagnosis, whichhasbeenreported previously. Thepattern ofpuberty andadolescent growth was essentially normal andoccurred at a marginally earlier timethannormal, although inthis small series thedifferences were not significant. Inthegirls there was atendency togainsubcutaneous fatafter puberty. Thistrend was notapparentintheboys.
