Circuito profesional masculino de tenis: Demandas técnicas según categoría del torneo

The aim of this study was to analyse the technical parameters relatedto the competition statistics of the service and the return in tennis in the different categories of professional tournaments (Challenger, ATP 250, ATP 500, Master 1000, and Grand Slam) and on different court surfaces (clay, hard court and grass). A totalof 98 matches, belonging to 14 competitions, and played by 68 different tennis players were analyzed. ANOVA one-way test was performed with the post hoc comparison with the Bonferroni correction to perform pairwise comparisons according to category. The results showed significant differences between categories, mainly on the grass surface in the variables of first services (%), points wonwith the first service (%) and points wonreturningof the first service (%). The data found show the differences in technical parameters according to the category of the tournament and can be used by coaches in the design of exercises.
