Why the Cloud

In this chapter, the causes of the appearance of the cloud are discussed. In its inception, the development of cloud computing has been linked to the need to satisfy an existing demand by users (initially and mostly big businesses or companies), enterprise conditions, and business evolution. We also introduce Sasha, a researcher, principal investigator, or manager of an R&D business that tries to cover all their daily work needs using cloud services and that we will be the guiding element throughout this book.
