Social network theory provides a powerful lense through which to consider The Academy of Management's 2017 conference theme, “At the Interface.x Social networks research is defined by an understanding that the social activity that occurs “at the interfacex can have broad ramifications. Whether concerned with weak ties that bridge groups or organizations, structural holes, or board interlocks, social network research continually returns to the structure and social dynamics that occur at the interface between people, groups, cultures, and organizations. Toward unpacking the most important insights around knowledge and organizing, we engage the work to date of six top mid-career network scholars.
