Estudo exploratório da precificação dos cortes ovinos comercializados em mercados on line em diferentes países

2017
The objective of this study was to investigate the behavior of sheep cuts pricing in different trading markets online in order to identify value-adding factors for the productive chain of the Brazilian sheep industry. Analyzed data belonged from 601 different countries, in the months of March and April 2015 based on an online survey. The results show that the highest average price among all countries surveyed corresponded to the United States. Only considering the American continent, the United States and Brazil obtained the first places. On the European continent, Scotland and in Australasia, New Zealand’s countries. As for the portioning, values ranged from US$ 9.58/kg to US$ 28.25/kg, and the highest values were observed for products in pieces or sliced products. As for conservation, between observations with informed categories, cold, frozen and vacuum packaging products had prices between US$ 10.54/kg to US$ 15.78/kg. In edible kids the highest average price was for the pancreas (US$ 31.08/kg). Lamb meat categories presented a higher price (US$ 20.53/kg) when compared to sheep meat (US$ 10.15/kg). Prices showed high variability, probably due to regional average income, cultural preferences and gastronomic habits of each market.
