The invention relates to a traditional Chinese medicinal preparation for treating periodontitis. The invention is characterized in that: the bulk drugs for the preparation comprises 6 to 10 g of coptis, 6 to 9 g of China mahonia, 6 to 9 g of prunella vulgaris, 6 to 9 g of wild chrysanthemum flower, 6 to 10 g of adenophora root, 6 to 10 g of anemarrhena, 8 to 12 g of gypsum, 6 to 10 g of asparagus tuber, 8 to 10 g of tree peony bark, 6 to 10 g of raw rehmannia root, 6 to 10 g of heydyotis, 8 to 10 g of puffball fruiting body, 6 to 10 g of rhinoceros horn, 4 to 6 g of pseudo-ginseng, 6 to 10 g of bamboo leaf, 6 to 10 g of Smilax glabra and 4 to 6 g of licorice. The above-mentioned bulk drugs are selected, mixed and steeped, and then are decocted with water into decoction; each decoction has a volume of 200 ml and is to be taken orally twice each day in the morning and evening, 100 ml each time. Ten days are a course of treatment. When the preparation is used for treating periodontitis, an integrate therapeutic concept of clearing heat, eradicating toxic matters, nourishing yin to reduce pathogenic fire and generate body fluid, invigorate blood circulation, inhibiting bleeding, dissipating blood clot, relieving pain, increasing urine and expelling toxin as a therapeutic principle; the preparation has the characteristics of a good curative effect, a short treatment course, a high cure rate, low cost and no toxic and side effects; in clinical application, the preparation is used based on overall analysis of different syndrome.
