Energy Transfer in Complex Networks: A Quantum Graph Approach
2019
We propose an analogue of the random coupling model (RCM) which is used to study the properties of irregular electromagnetic cavities connected to multiple channels. The proposed model is based on a quantum graph (QG) formalism which has been validated through experiment by measuring the reflection coefficient, $S_{11}$ , of a polygonal graph. The theoretical prediction compares favourably with the experimental results. Because of its simplicity in modelling arbitrary graphs with complicated topologies, the model provides a flexible tool which could be used to study interference effects which is significant in electromagnetic compatibility studies. Also, the model provides us with a more tractable alternative in understanding information transfer rates within multichannel communication systems.
