Dependence of type I superstring anomalies on the regularization scheme

Abstract The diagrammatic usage of Fujikawa's regularization is given in the evaluation of the gauge anomaly in the type I superstring. Although we can find an ambiguity in this regularization scheme, it turns out that this ambiguity does not mean the inconsistency of the anomaly itself. In the same way, we also show that the result by the gaussian factor regularization which Green and Schwarz have used for the evaluation of the gauge anomaly in the type I superstring is consistent with the result obtained by the Pauli-Villars regularization, although they obtained different results for the conservation of the axial current by these schemes of regularization.
