CPAP in Perioperative Respiratory Complications in Children: When and Where
2020
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is one of the modes of noninvasive ventilation, and it is widely used. CPAP is generally used in the intensive care unit, and it plays role in the management of many diseases, such as acute respiratory syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea, neuromuscular disorders, and cardiac disease. Presently, CPAP is also performed for perioperative complications. However, these complications are associated with adverse respiratory events that mostly occur in the postoperative period. In this chapter, the role of CPAP in postoperative pulmonary complications is discussed.
