Effect of conditions of synthesis of kinetics of structure-formation of polycaproamide during anionic adiabatic polymerization☆

Abstract A study was made of the effect of initial temperature of synthesis on kinetics of structure-formation of polycaproamide during anionic activated polymerization of ϵ-caprolactam under adiabatic conditions. It was established that a solid ϵ-caprolactam solution is formed in polycaproamide at the initial stage of the process. It was shown that morphology is formed via an intermediate stage, which is characterized by the formation of large spherulitic units.
