The analysis on spatial and temporal distribution features of continuous rain in Jiangsu

Based on the comprehensive index factor of continuous rain we identified the standard process of continuous rain in Jiangsu province.Based on the index system and its temporal and spatial distribution analysis,we concluded that annual average number of continuous rain in Jiangsu province is 12.5,it is much less in north than in south,showing that continuous rain frequently occurred in south Jiangsu along the Yangtze River.Continuous rain in spring(March-May) and in autumn(September-November) causes main damage to the crops.The average number the of continuous rain is 3.1 and 2.7,respectively,with the peak value in March and September.In order to further quantitatively evaluate strength of continuous rain,we designed continuous rain intensity model,identified the continuous rain intensity index model,classified the strength index MLYY,and provided policymakers with a better service.
