Method for managementing function of mobile terminal

A method for performing a function of a mobile terminal is provided to reduce a data communication fee by preventing a mobile terminal to automatically perform handover to a mobile communication network and to previously set a function of mobile terminal used in a mobile internet area. A mobile terminal receives a function execution key inputted through an input unit by a user in a standby state(S401,S411). A controller determines whether a mobile Internet function has been set in the mobile terminal(S421). If the mobile Internet function has been set, the controller determines whether the mobile terminal is within a mobile Internet area(S431). If the mobile terminal is within a mobile Internet area, the controller performs a messenger function(S441).
