Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Tentang Hipertensi Dengan Kepatuhan Minum Obat Pada Penderita Hipertensi

Hypertension is a chronic disease and is a major risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, heart failure, stroke and kidney failure. Hypertension patients must have compliance in order to avoid the various risks of other diseases. Non-compliance with patients taking medication can cause complications of hypertension. To determine the level of knowledge about hypertension with adherence to taking medication in patients with hypertension. Research Methods: This type of research is quantitative research with correlation research methods. This research was conducted in the working area of Bulu District, Bantoh District, Sukoharjo. The population in this study were all patients with hypertension in the working area of Bulu Sukoharjo Puskesmas, totaling 981 people. The sampling technique in this study uses accidental sampling, so based on calculations obtained 100 respondents as research samples. The instruments used to collect data in the study used a knowledge level questionnaire about hypertension and a medication adherence questionnaire that was standardized from MMAS-8. Data were analyzed using chi-square method. Hypertension sufferers at Bulu Health Center mostly have knowledge about hypertension in the sufficient category, and the majority have adherence to take medication in the less compliant category. Based on analysis found a significant relationship between knowledge about hypertension and medication adherence in patients with hypertension in the working area of Bulu Sukoharjo Health Center with a pvalue 0,020. Knowledge about hypertension has a positive relationship with medication adherence in patients with hypertension in the working area of Bulu Sukoharjo Health Center.
