The invention discloses a method for purifying high salinity wastewater by electrostatic adsorption. The method comprises the steps of: providing a water treatment device comprising a container and a plurality of electrodes arranged in the container, wherein the plurality of electrodes are alternately arranged on a first side and a second side in the container, the first side and the second side are arranged in opposite, the electrodes on the first side and the electrodes on the second side are respectively connected to the positive pole and negative pole of a power supply, a third side and a fourth side of the container are respectively provided with a water inlet and a water outlet, the plurality of electrodes define a snakelike water flow channel, and each electrode from outside to inside comprises a glass fiber layer, an activated carbon fiber layer and a conductive metal layer; and introducing the high salinity wastewater into the water treatment device from the water inlet of the container, passing through the snakelike water flow channel, and discharging from the water outlet. The method uses the electrostatic field provided by low voltage produced by a solar panel for the treatment of high salinity wastewater. The novel electrode material improves the treatment efficiency, reduces the energy consumption, improves processing efficiency, saves energy and reduces the cost.
