Predictive power of supersymmetry in nuclear structure tested by pickup transfer reactions to sup 196 Au

1991
Using the U{sub {ital v}}(6/12){times}U{sub {pi}}(6/4) supersymmetry a prediction for the negative parity states in the odd-odd nucleus {sup 196}Au is obtained. Since almost no experimental knowledge existed on the excited states of {sup 196}Au, the study of this nucleus is a stringent test for the predictive power of supersymmetry in nuclear structure. The theoretical values for the single-particle transfer reaction intensities from {sup 197}Au to {sup 196}Au are derived and compared with results of a high-resolution measurement of the {sup 197}Au({ital d},{ital t}) and {sup 197}Au({sup 3}He,{alpha}) reactions.
