CHAPTER 15:Magnetic Filler-Reinforced Natural Rubber Macro- and Nanocomposites

2013
Ceramic powders and nanopowders can be incorporated in different quantities into natural rubber matrixes producing magnetic composites and nanocomposites. Ferrites are good candidates for these incorporations producing nanocomposites named rubber ferrite composites (RFC) or polymer bonded magnets (PBMs) because ferrites have great chemical stability, corrosion resistance and it is possible to design their magnetic properties under adequate processing route. Magnetic natural rubber composites and nanocomposites are thought to be an ingenious new generation of materials which have potential applications in wireless data communication, magnetic memories, flexible magnets, local area networks, satellite television, heating systems and some other useful devices.
