Diagnóstico para implantação do Programa Nacional de Plantas Medicinais e Fitoterápicos, nos municípios do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

This work focuses on data collection to perform the diagnosis for the implementation of the Programa Nacional de Plantas Medicinais e Fitoterapicos in Rio de Janeiro state. The aim of the study was to identify the interest of the Secretarias Municipais de Saude in the implementation of herbal medicine service. The methodology used was action research, such as enhancement feature of the practice, by applying diagnosis that was crucial to defining the steps to be taken next. Through this method, we obtained a return of 55 completed forms (60% of the 92 municipalities) which resulted in twelve municipalities interested in the medicinal plants and herbal medicines. With the unfolding of this process there was an increase of stakeholders and identification of other municipalities with the implanted herbal medicine, which resulted in 27 municipalities (covering 50.3% of the state population) who were considered able to continue the progress of the process in which information about the right conditions for Herbal Medicine Services in Primary Care of the Secretarias Municipais de Saude will be cleared.
