Educational field trips to the surroundings have an enormous potential due to their motivating character, and because they contextualize students’ learning with their daily life. On many occasions, educational centres do not include this type of resource in their academic offering or offer it without a didactic sense. The present research work aims to analyse the effect of an educational field trip in the change of perception of the immediate surroundings in prospective teachers. The methodology used is an exploratory study with a pretest-posttest design. The first conclusions indicate that there is a shift from a more idealised impression to a more realistic one.
