MINIMISING NOISE AND VIBRATION ON OCEAN RESEARCH VESSEL HAKUMO MARU

1990
Recently the importance of world scale ocean research has been recognised, and various sophisticated research equipment features modern research vessels. In order to minimise the level of ship's vibration and noise, and acoustic noise in the water, the R.V. HAKUHO MARU was designed and built applying the technology of double resilient mounting for its diesel engines and a newly developed hull form considering bubble locus, highly skewed propeller and side thruster impellers etc.
