Previous research on cognitive linguistics has been primarily focused on theories,and studies on practice are few in number.Facilitated by research products of cognitive linguistics and cognitive grammar,teachers will have a deeper understanding of grammar acquisition as well as second language acquisition.Teachers will be able to change their way of instruction,once sole and prescriptive,emphasize semantic features of grammar and enhance holistic teaching.In this way,they will help students experience grammar properties,increase their sensitivity to grammar and improve their ability to use grammar.
