A homeopatia foi criada no seculo XVIII pelo medico alemao Samuel Christian Hahnemann (1755-1843) fundamentada no principio da similitude similia similibus curantur que significa o “semelhante cura o semelhante”, isto e, a doenca deve ser tratada com uma substância capaz de produzir sintomas semelhantes ao que o paciente apresenta. Este sistema terapeutico visa a medicar o paciente partindo da totalidade dos sintomas, incluindo as alteracoes fisicas e comportamentais na busca no medicamento simillimun . O setor de Homeopatia veterinaria da Clinica Escola Veterinaria da Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (UNICENTRO) fornece atendimento a caes e gatos apresentando diversos disturbios. Com este trabalho buscou-se a avaliacao nosologica dos pacientes atendidos, assim como a distribuicao das principais afeccoes e relacao dos medicamentos prescritos. Os dados apresentados foram levantados a partir das fichas de atendimento clinico do Ambulatorio do Servico de Homeopatia Veterinaria da Clinica Escola da UNICENTRO, no periodo de outubro de 2008 a agosto de 2009. Abstract Homeopathy was developed in the 18th century by German physician Samuel Christian Hahnemann (1755-1843) based on the principle of similarity “ similia similibus curantur ” which means “Let like cures like”. In other words, the disease should be treated by a substance capable of producing similar symptoms to those being suffered by the patient. This therapeutic system aims to medicate the patient based on the totality of symptoms, including physical and behavioral alterations, in order to find the simillimun drug. The sector of veterinary homeopathy of the Veterinary Teaching Clinic at the Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (UNICENTRO) provides homeopathic care to dogs and cats with several clinical disorders. In this study, we searched the nosologic evaluation of patients, the distribution of pathologies and the list prescribed drugs. The data presented were gathered from the forms of clinical care of the sector of Veterinary Homeopathy of the Teaching Clinic at UNICENTRO, from October 2008 to August 2009.
