Cervical cord tumor in two haemophilic brothers

1971
Abstract Two brothers with familial Factor VIII-deficiency are reported. They each developed acutely a cervical transverse cord lesion at the ages of 21 and 18 years respectively. Each was found to have a cervical cord tumour (subependymoma) with old and recent haemorrhages. In one case there was also a syringomyelic cavity. Operation was performed in view of the possibility that a subdural or epidural haematoma might have been the cause of the transverse cord lesion.
