Percutaneous nephrostomy to relieve renal tract obstruction in pregnancy

We were surprised to read that percutaneous nephrostomy in pregnancy had not been reported previously (Trewhella et al, 1991). We have records of three nephrostomies being performed in pregnancy in our department in the last 5 years.
