Despite the long length of the fiber light-guides and, consequently, the high light flux energy losses the arrangement described possesses sufficient sensitivity to monitor the radial wobble of diamond cutting wheels in accordance with the All-Union State Standard (GOST) 10110-71 “Diamond cutting wheels.” The sensitivity of a specific instrument can be increased by reducing the length of the fiber light-guides.
