Development of Physiological Data Monitoring System for Cancer Radiotherapy

2019
The treatment of cancer has always been one of the most important fields in the medical field. Currently, the treatment of cancer includes surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Due to the safety of radiation therapy, nearly half of the cancers can be treated with radiation. Radiation therapy has become a very popular way in recent years. Radiation therapy uses high-energy particles with radiation to localize the location of cancer cells to inhibit the growth and division of cancer cells and to destroy cancer cells. Compared with other treatment methods, radiation therapy is widely used due to the low side effects of radiation therapy. Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays to illuminate the tumor, so in the context of radiation therapy, lead must be used to shield the perimeter of the treatment room to improve radiation safety around the treatment environment and comply with relevant regulations. However, the angle of signal transmission Insofar, such shielding will result in difficulties in the transmission of physiological signals. During the course of radiation therapy, the medical staff monitors the operation of the radiology apparatus in the control room, and uses the camera to monitor the condition of the patient and the instrument in the treatment room and perform the required operation. However, when the medical staff is in the control room, it is difficult to monitor the physiological data of the patient, so that the risk of the patient during the treatment is increased. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a physiological data monitoring system for the radiation treatment. The project includes oximeter integration, gateway development and workstation program. The physiological data of the patient during the treatment process can be displayed in the workstation of the control room, and notified when the physiological data is abnormal. In addition, the data recording function is provided as a reference. Through such system development and integration, the safety of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy is improved.
