Study of copolymerization of isoprene with glycidyl methacrylate

It was found possible to determine the composition of glycidyl methacrylate-isoprene copolymers from NMR spectra. The relationship between copolymer composition and composition of the initial mixture was examined. Constants of copolymerization of this pair of monomers were determined graphically. Differential and integral compositions of copolymers were calculated for different degrees of monomer conversion. Maximum degrees of polymerization, where one of the monomers is depleted, were calculated using copolymerization constants.
