Coercion and Coercive Offers

Initially, we may distinguish coercion from such related concepts as power, force, and violence. One person may coerce another to do something, or he may use power, force, or violence to bring about a similar visible result. But the person who is being coerced to do something is not having the same experience and may perhaps not be performing the same action (if he is acting at all) as he is when power is being used to affect his action, or when force is being applied to determine his behavior, or when violence is being inflicted upon him.
