Study on water saving assessment system of Longganghe River Basin

Longganghe River is an ephemeral river with a less environmental volume and lower self-purification capability,for which the water saving can be initiated from the reduction of the volume of sewage inflows into Longganghe River from the relevant sources,and then it is necessary to establish an assessment system for water saving.Based on analytic hierarchy process,a comprehensive water saving assessment index system containing 2 sub-systems,8 classes and 22 indexes is established by subdividing the general objective of the comprehensive water saving in layers in accordance with the characteristics and the factors of the impacts on the water saving in the river basin.The comprehensive water saving assessment index system covers two levels of both the policy guarantee and the technical support and involves the mainline of the whole water saving process through water source,water works,pipeline network,user terminal,while it takes the three water-saving ways such as developing new water sources,decreasing water consumption,and reducing sewage discharge as its working guarantee.Therefore,this system can be provided as a reference for the water-saving of the other river basins and cities concerned.
