Community partnership and ownership as key factors of community strategies. A Peruvian case study

2021
Abstract The objective of this research is to determine the type of strategies used by mining companies based on the degree of economic community partnership and community ownership of the social project. Economic partnership can be understood to be the investment of community assets in social projects, and “community ownership of the project” can be understood to mean the community is taking charge of the social project, has given its consent, and feels it “owns” the project. The results illustrate four types of community relations strategies: competing, compliant, paternalistic, and sustainable.
