CF-27 Initiative for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Studies Core Laboratories: A Multidisciplinary Resource for High-throughput Biomedical Studies James A. Foster, Rob Lyons, Matt Settles, Suresh Iyer, Larry Forney. The Initiative for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary STudies (IBEST) at the University of Idaho is an interdisciplinary research group that blends expertise from biologists, biochemists, mathematicians, statisticians, and computer scientists to examine the underpinnings of evolutionary biomedicine. IBEST supports core laboratories for bioinformatics, DNA sequence analysis and microarrays. The mission of the IBEST core labs is to provide the researcher and collaborators with all the experience and expertise need to efficiently and cost effectively conduct next generation research from design to data visualization in an integrative and collaborative environment. This poster highlights the services the IBEST Core labs offer, including: experiment consultation, 454 Sequencing, Nimblegen microarrays, computational resources (700 node cluster), bioinformatic analysis and training and in the near future Illumina genotyping. Supported by NIH-NCRR P20RR16448 and NIH-NCRR P20RR016454.
