تخلیقِ انسان کے مختلف مراحل: قرآنی آیات اور علمِ جنین کے تناظر میں :

ABSTRACT The scope of the Quranic invitation to human for righteous path is supported by diverse evidences. One category of the evidences covers different aspects of matter's creation and its astonishing features. One of such category of Ayaat (signs/evidences) belongs to the human embryonic developmental stages, which are observable through modern scientific facilities. Albeit in the era of the Quranic revelation, such kind of informations were not available to humans. However, the Quranic translators as well as commentators explained the meaning and nature of human embryonic stages with the help of available scientific / observable information to them. For instance in the Ayah of Sura Al Momenoon different progressive embryonic stages have been described: “Then we turned the sperm-drop into a clot, then we turned the clot into a fetus-lump, then we turned the fetus-lump into bones, then we clothed the bones with flesh; thereafter we developed it into another creature. So, glorious is Allah, the Best of the creators” The above ayah clearly narrates different progressive developmental stages of human embryo starting from sperm to well-formed stage. In the Ayah, the word “Alaqah” has been translated / illustrated by several mufassereen as blood clot or clotted blood. Whilst its meaning are entirely different; it might be translated as a suspended body. In fact after fertilization, the Zygote travels down through the oviduct and gets transplanted to the wall of the uterus. And further development occurs while this embryo remains suspended from the uterine wall. This clarification is mentioned in the tafseer Bayan-al-Quran by Dr. Asrar Ahmad; who was a religious scholar and medical doctor as well. This indicates that for the explanation of ayaat which describes observable signs of ALLAH S.W.T. s’ creation should be explained by religious scholars after consulting expert of that particular field. Regarding some other aspects of embryonic development in Surah “Al Zumar” it is mentioned that “He created you from a single person, then (once this person was created,) He made his match from him, and sent down for you eight pairs of the cattle. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in three layers of darkness. That is your Allah, your Lord. To Him belongs the whole Kingdom. There is no god but Him. Then, to where are you being diverted (by your whims)?”In this Ayah of Sura Almomin source of human creation is mentioned: “He is the One who created you from dust, then from a drop of semen, then from a clot. After that, He takes you out as an infant. Then, (He makes you grow) so that you reach your full maturity, and, thereafter, become old – and some of you die earlier – and so that you   reach the appointed term, and so that you understand.” In this ayah a long journey of human creation and embryonic development has been summarized. Direct creation from dust might be considered valid for first human and/or as presently all food we eat is sourced from dust. And from consumed food an embryo grows and ultimately becomes mature and capable to perform reproductive function. It is concluded that such Quranic Ayyat explanations need discussion in the light of relative scientific knowledge of recent time frame. This practice will be more appealing to Quranic researchers who are students of science too.
