Study of the infection of metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis in freshwater fish in Tangshan.

Objective To investigate the infection of metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis in freshwater fish in the City of Tangshan.Methods Seven types of freshwater fish were examined using the direct squash technique and artificial digestion.Results A total of 563 freshwater fish collected from Douhe reservoir was examined,and the total positive rate was 47.42%.Infection was most prevalent in Pseudorasbora parva(83.41%),followed by Hemiculter leucisculus(40.00%),Scorpaenidae marmoratus(12.82%),and Pelteobagrus fulvidraco(2.20%).Metacercaria infection was not detected in Pelteo-bagrus,Common carp,and Pseudolaubuca sinensis.Conclusion The freshwater fish in the City of Tangshan have varying degrees of infection with C.sinensis metacercariae.
