Memory, Memorial, and Mentorship

My older sister and I grew up in an intense time of feverish zine-making and journaling, when the grunge music soundtrack echoed the rawness of adolescent longing and despair. We aimed to make meaning through collages of disparate ideas and imagery, pieced together in hand-bound and hand-delivered books. We marked the untimely deaths of teen friends by crafting memory boxes and scrapbooks.
