Unusual Presentation of Facial Nerve Schwannoma
2004
Schwannomas of the facial nerve are rare tumours usually arising from the geniculate ganglion. They sometimes reach a large size with intracranial invasion and features simulating other tumours. When this occurs, accurate diagnosis must be based on careful neuroradiological assessment of growth lines and tumour topography.
