Training of general practitioners in phthisiology
2006
: The phthisiology teaching program for non-phthisiological physicians provides for the extension and strengthening of skills in diagnosis, differential diagnosis, intensive care, medical and surgical treatment, anesthesiology and resuscitation in patients with tuberculosis and in its prevention and early detection. The effective training of physicians is determined by the teacher's professional competence and the trainees' needs for the efficiency of an educational process. A great role in building up practical skills is played by the physicians' independent work that is an integral part of improvement of clinical thought and that is most significant in building up knowledge and skills. The efficiency of training envisages different forms of control: verbal, written, testing, practical, and combined, each being actively used while teaching phthisiology in non-phthisiological physicians.
