WATER BEHAVIOR SCALE TOWARDS PRE-SERVICE SCIENCE TEACHERS: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY

The role of the teachers in making the new generation sensitive towards environment is crucial. Therefore, the preservice teachers need to gain conscious water consumption behaviour. The aim of this study is to develope a scale to determine the behaviour of the preservice science teachers towards water consumption. The scale is applied to 249 preservice science teachers at various universities. Expert opinion sare taken for the content validity. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis are made for the structure validity. It is observed that the scale consists 16 items and five dimensions. It is found out that percent of variance explained as 62.914 and the cronbach alpha coefficiants as .83. As a result, the scale has a valid and reliable structure.
