Severity of late Hepatitis C diagnosis and treatment: diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the duodenum and spinal cord - Case report / Severidade do diagnóstico e tratamento da hepatite C tardia: linfoma difuso de grandes células B do duodeno e medula espinal - Relato de caso

2021
Hepatitis C virus is a hepatotrophic and lymphotrophic virus, with several clinical liver and extrahepatic manifestations. Of the lymphoproliferative disorders, HCV has already been associated with monoclonal gammopathies, mixed cryoglobulinemia and B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, as described in the case presented. The patient was an HCV carrier who developed B cell lymphoma confirmed by biopsy of duodenal ulcer and spinal cord, in an investigation of paraplegia and diarrhea. He had received treatment for HCV before admission, with confirmation of the response to treatment. The case presented shows the disastrous consequences of the lack of early diagnosis and late treatment of Hepatitis C.
