FITORREMEDIAÇÃO PARA EMISSÕES DE LIXIVIADO EM ATERROS CONTROLADOS FECHADOS

2020
The closure of controlled landfills raises concerns all over the world. Furthermore, the huge environmental passive and the constant production of sub products still impact the land, even after the closure of this type of landfills. The search for mitigation measures or for remediation gained more strength in this context. The technological progress, new important tools were developed, aiming not just remediation, but also total recover of this areas and the sub products. Increasing sustainable technologies that will be used. The emissions of leachate in landfills contains high levels of pollutants and has high cost to be treated. Alternative and sustainable measures stood out, as an example: phytoremediation. This technology is plant-based, associating plants and microorganisms to remove pollutants from soil and water. It is a technique with low cost, low-labor-intense, with satisfying results and efficient in removing pollutants. Acting on the environmental, social and economic thread. Other techniques could raise the costs of remediation, some limit technical barriers, tend to be a destructive technology, high-labor-intense. This work presents a compilation of the most important studies about phytoremediation on leachate from controlled landfills.
