First example of favorskii ethynylation of pyrrolecarbaldehydes: Synthesis of 1-(1-methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)prop-2-yn-1-ol

1-(1-Methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)prop-2-yn-1-ol has been synthesized for the first time by ethynylation of 1-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde with acetylene in the superbasic system KOH-DMSO-H2O under atmospheric pressure.
