CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN SPORT: THE CASE OF FENERBAHÇE SPORT CLUB

The aim of this study was to emphasize the importance of corporate social responsibility in the field of sports and to determine carried out activities. For this purpose, the clubs who is competing in Turkey leagues was reviewed as preliminary research and it was identified that Fenerbahce Sports Club is a great social responsibility projects and the institutional structure than other clubs. For this reason, Fenerbahce sport clubs was investigated in corporate social responsibility practices. Interview technique was used as a method of qualitative research techniques. Data were obtained with semi-structured interview form. The form was applied to club Vice-president and the person who is responsible from the associations. We obtained scope of the club's social responsibility projects, the benefits of society and the institution, the economic dimension of the employees point of view, the planning process. The findings showed that; the social responsibility activities especially through associations which are for fulfilling the objectives of clubs are able to achieve the needed regions, the realization of the activities according to the needs and thus help to increase the contribution to society activities. In addition, to protection and enhancement images of clubs and to increase the moral and economic power by raising the number of club also determined as the contribution. Social responsibility activities budget for the nine-year period is determined approximately 8 million Turkish Lira.
