Finite element analysis of stress on lower jaw tissue of the neutral zone method complete denture

Aim:To investigate the biomechanical properties of neutral zone method complete denture and lower jaw support tissue.Methods:Based on the two finite element models of different denture,the stress of complete denture on the lower jaw support tissue in three working conditions was analyzed and calculated.Results: The neutral zone method complete denture and the conventional method complete denture had similar stress distribution in three working conditions. In the aspect of the largest displacement and maximum stress of the base, the neutral zone method complete denture was less than the conventional method complete denture.Conclusion:The neutral zone method complete denture is more stable than the conventional method complete denture in simulated functional conditions.
