Still today the opinions as to the diagnosis and most appropriate treatment of microinvasive cervical cancer may be called a confusing dilemma. The problems arise because there is no standardized nomenclature, no standardized histologic definition, no standardized size delimitation, no standardized assessment of microscopic vascular invasion, and, finally, no uniform concept about type and extent of the treatment for these lesions.
