Impacto financiero de la división hombre-camión en una empresa de autotransporte de carga

2014
The transport sector in Mexico is a very important part of its economy; by trucks is the most used transportation for moving goods overland. Carriers are increasingly required to provide quality services at the lowest prices because they are regarded as an essential part of the process logistics for companies who use them. Against this background, are forced to seek alternative strategies to enable them to improve their operating costs without sacrificing the quality of their services and establish a competitive advantage which gives a differentiator with its competitors. This study, proposes the establishment of a strategy to change the traditional pattern of operation, replacing the assignment of a truck to a driver in a particular, and instead rely on a trucks group and a group of drivers that allows any tractor can be used by any driver, minimizing or eliminating the problem of current shipments denied by unavailability of trucks. This lack of availability occurs when, in the traditional pattern of operation, a tractor is marked as in rest and can not be used, while his driver takes his allotted time compulsory leave after a shipment. The introduction of the proposed strategy will allow maximizing the use of their resources and increase their profits. This research presents the history of transportation in Mexico, its current status and statistics branch, as well as the general description of the operation of a typical Mexican carrier, and through it, will discuss the details of deploying the strategy and its financial effects, concluding on the feasibility of such implementation and tangible benefits to the company analyzed.
